AIRWORTHINES RENEWAL OF AUTHORITIES TO FLY 

1.             Renewals for Authorities to Fly in the category NTCA aircraft will be issued by RAASA as of the 4th of May 2009.

a.     All NTC aircraft registered with MTOW of less than 600 Kg, and used for private and training purposes

b.    All NTC aircraft registered with MTOW of less than 1200 Kg and used for private only purposes 

2.             Annual Inspection: Application form RA 24.1 must be completed. 

3.             Renewal: Application form RA 24.2 must be completed and must be accompanied by the form RA24.1. 

        APPLICATION Process.

1. Application form RA 24.2 (original) must be accompanied by the following forms: 

2. Annual Inspection Report Form RA 24.1 (original); 

3. Recent photo of aircraft in guise (printed or e-mail to RAASA at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ); 

4. Copy of valid Mass and Balance for the aircraft (within the past 5 years);

5. Copy of equipment list (instruments and avionics);

6. Copy of the valid ICASA radio station licence (n/a in the case of a hand-held radio);

7. Copy of the last page of the flight folio (aircraft flight records);

8. Copy of the the last page of airframe logbook (maintenance records);

9. Copy of certificate of release to service;

10. Copy of the Certificate of Registration (CoR);

11. Copy of previous Authority to Fly (ATF);

12. Proof of payment of the prescribed fee as in Part 187;

13. Proof of current Aeroclub of SA membership for AP & owner of aircraft (refer part 94.06.1);

14. Proof of payment of the prescribed fee as in Part 187;

If all required documents do not accompany the applications, RAASA will not be able to process the application in reasonable time. 

6.             All original application forms and original copies to be sent to RAASA by registered mail or courier. 

7.             The original Authority to Fly will be posted by RAASA per registered mail to the aircraft owner
